a lift. Looking at the time, I realized that I
should hustle back to Riederalp for the lift down.

My plan was to walk to Fiescheralp for the lift down
to Fiesch. I was alarmed to see the 2.5-hour time
estimate. It was already after 3:15 and I wasn't
sure what time the lift closed.

shorter time estimate of 1 hr 15 mins to my lift. I
remembered that there was an option to shorten the
route by taking a tunnel.

Another hiker was happy for a walking companion thru
the tunnel and back to the lift.
The long, straight tunnel was lit by occasional fluorescent
lights on the ceiling.
