About 60 minutes into our hike, we arrived at Lac de
Ballon.

Most of my hiking trip was alone, but my friend
Charles was able to take the day off from work to
join me for this hike in the Alsace region of
France.

When Charles and I had approached the summit in
2009, it was engulfed in cloud. Now we had a
cloudy day, but we didn't hike in cloud.
