Since Jen and I were here in 2012, they built this engineered walkway to the scenic viewpoint. Jen and I scrambled across the rocks to it in 2012.

It's not easy to see, but the trail number on the sign is '404', corresponding to the tourist-friendly Alta Via 1. I made the mistake in 2015 of believing this sign - and followed this trail to treacherous landscape and anxiety.

Four minutes farther along the trail was ANOTHER Trail 404. This was, in fact, the Alta Via 1, and we set off on it.
